Oct. 19 - Oct 23 - We will be discussing test results and reviewing point of view. Students are still struggling on distinguishing between 3rd person limited, 3rd person omniscient, and 3rd person objective. Also, we will be working on looking for strong details in the text to support our answers. Career/College Day - guest speakers will share information about their area of expertise on Thursday. Parent/Teacher conferences on Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm and Thursday 1 - 7 pm. No School Friday. Have a great 3 day weekend!
Oct. 12 - Oct. 16 - We will be finishing up Flowers for Algernon and assessing character traits, inferencing, and point of view.
Oct. 5 - Oct. 9 - We read Ch. 25 - 30. We will be starting Flowers for Algernon at the end of the week to review character traits, inferencing. and point of view for next week's test.

Aug. 31 - Sept. 4 - We read and discussed comprehension questions students completed in their packets up thru Ch. 8, p. 73, in our novel The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Next weeks goal is to read Ch. 9 - 12. We pretested point of view.
Aug. 24 - 28 - We have read up thru chapter 3 or p. 29 in our novel The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Students have worked on increasing their vocabulary, analyzing the setting and character traits of the characters introduced up to this point. We took the District Writing Prompt and the MAZE, and the students and I will use this data from these assessments to set goals and work on improving our weaknesses and building upon their strengths.
Aug. 13 - 21 - We have started reading our anchor texted entitled The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan. Students were also able to get into the computer lab this week and take the SRI. When all the results are in students will have the opportunity to analyze and graph their results, then set their own reading goals.
